Tun Sardon Link, Penang

Location: Penang, Malaysia

The Tun Sardon Link Bridge  start from Lebuhraya Thean Tek and end at Lebuh Bukit Jambul, is expected to complete by end of this year.   The total bridge length between abutments is approximately 465m.  This alternative road is intended to ease traffic congestion along Jalan Paya Terubong, which is an arterial road linking Bayan Baru, Balik Pulau and Air Item, Penang.

 

Requirements

  • Long span crossing construction with free balanced cantilever method.
  • Short cycle time in segmental box girder casting.
  • Component's weight control due to constrain in crane lifting capacity.
