RM3 billion Penang Second Bridge is built under a co-operative programme between China and Malaysia and it expected to turn the island into a key logistic and transportation hub. It will link from Batu Maung on the island to Batu Kawan and Seberang Prai on the mainland.
China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd. (CHEC) and United Engineers Malaysia (UEM) were awarded to design and build this 23.5km bridge termed the "Marine Bridge" with dual two traffic lanes carriageway across the bay.

The formwork for the pylon was formed with the VARIO GT 24 formwork system and mounted to RCS C platform
