DOSH recognised scaffold training

The trainings

  • Construction scaffolding supervisors plan and supervise the transport, assembly, disassembly and maintenance of the structures.
  • Scaffold Inspector are responsible to overseeing the erection of the scaffold. Final inspection of the scaffold prior to initial occupation for use. At a minimum, daily inspection and documentation of the condition of the scaffold and its ability to be occupied safely. Inspections of scaffolds after changes / alterations have been made.
  • In Malaysia, the provisions of 74 (1) of the Regulations (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) (Safety) Regulations, Factories and Machinery Act, 1986 stipulates that all the work of installing, dismantle or maintain the scaffold shall be carried out under the supervision of the 'designated person' or competent person appointed by the employer to supervise or inspect the work.
  • For the purpose of registration with the DOSH, the scaffolder is required to attend scaffolding courses organized by scaffolding training centre recogized by DOSH.
  • Each training centre who wish to organize such course is required to be registered and recognized by DOSH.
  • PERI Training Center at Petaling Jaya is registered and recognized by DOSH.

DOSH Scaffold Inspection training | 2 days | RM 880.00 | Code: PER 002

Objectives

  • Identify and inspect tubes, boards, ladders, gin wheels, ropes and fittings correctly.
  • State the main requirements of the International Statutory Requirements & Codes of Practice, Malaysian BOWEC regulations & UK working at height regulations 2005.
  • Identify the construction requirements common to all scaffolds to include: -
  • Foundations
  • Scaffold framework
  • TG20 compliant scaffolds and permissible additions
  • Working platforms, handrails and toe boards
  • Safe access and egress
  • Carry out inspections and fault identification on access scaffolds
  • Complete and maintain reports in accordance with current statutory provision.

Target Group

  • This course is aimed at Scaffolders and non-Scaffolders , e.g. Managers /Engineers, who are required to carry out inspections of basic scaffold structures

Entry Requirements

  • To be a qualified scaffolder level 1 at least 1 year or to be employed in a supervisory capacity for scaffolding.
  • To have evidence of suitable H&S Induction Training.
  • To be in good mental and physical health.
  • To have understanding of English or Malay spoken language.
  • To bring suitable spanner, level, & tape.
  • To bring suitable PPE, Safety footwear, Safety helmet, Harness & Gloves

DOSH Scaffold Supervisor training | 2 days | RM 680.00 | Code: PER 003

Objectives

  • To meet local regulation requirements and the demands of today’s scaffolding industry.
  • To meet sector requirements and satisfy local regulations in scaffolding operations to ensure staff have the skills to plan all work at height, conduct risk assessments, control methods of work, monitor, direct and instruct scaffolding operatives to complete tasks safely.

Target Group

  • This course is aimed specifically for those responsible for the direction, supervision and management of scaffold.

Entry Requirements 

  • To be in good mental and physical health.
  • Extensive scaffolding industry experience with Scaffolder level 1 at least 2 years
  • Ideally hold a managerial position or qualification as Scaffolder Level 2 and above or equivalent advanced certificate.
  • Employers will be responsible for ensuring that delegates meet the above-mentioned requirements
  • To have evidence of suitable H&S Induction Training.
  • To be in good mental and physical health.
  • To have understanding of English or Malay spoken language.
  • To bring suitable spanner, level, & tape.
