Strategic Marketing and Segment

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage and orchestrate the subsidiaries' activities in the target segment to drive segment turnover, relevant market share and profitability (CM II)
  • Act as business owner-identify and realize local key opportunities based on a thorough market understanding

Research & Monitor Segment

  • Creates a segment specific fact base to quantify size and potential of local (sub-)segment(s) (ind. Cl and segment pricing)
  • Engages with local customers and Sales organization to gather a comprehensive picture of the segment and related customer journey (user experience)
  • Conducts market research to identify and validate opportunities
  • Controls segment turnover and profitability on local level

Develop and Implement Segment Strategies

  • Creates the local segment strategy based on customer value proposition and applicable business models in order to identify gaps in current offering (e.g. basis of product roadmap)
  • Derives strategic key measures from consolidated requirements for relevant departments (Sales, Product Mgmt., Channel Mgt., Engineering, etc.) on subsidiary, regional and HQ level
  • Prioritizes opportunities and defines local focus areas / sub­ segments based on object. analysis (incl. high-level business plans)

Communication and Coordination

  • Challenges local sales on market potential within annual planning
  • Acts as central coordinator between all involved subsidiary functions
  • Aligns closely with regional Product- and Segment Manager
  • Communicates market requirements, segment strategy and strategic measures to all stakeholders in the subs. and the MU


  • Core interfaces with Sales, Marketing and Product Mgmt. functions on subsidiary and regional level, additional interfaces with subsidiary Managing Director, Engineering, Operations and other relevant functions
  • Solid reporting line to local Head of Marketing

  • Expert knowledge regarding the (local) target segment, the industry in general and PERI's products
  • Ability to think strategically, communicate a vision and influence other stakeholders
  • Proactive, result-driven and pragmatic   mindset
